Beginner's Folk It Adult Painting Workshop for 6 Weeks

This is a 6 week painting course to learn different Folk Art designs, no artistic talent needed -guidance & support given - lots of fun!

About this event

Week 1

You will learn all about the Colour Wheel and how to mix the different paint colours rather than falling into the trap of buying lots of paint.

I will show you how to look after your brushes so they last a lifetime.

We’ll go through how to transfer the pattern designs and start practicing the main brush stroke the ‘comma stroke’.

Discuss all about the a wet pallet.

Lots to go through in your Folk It Journey and Week 1 of fun and art therapy, and the best bit is, you don’t have to be an artist to learn this, I absolutely promise you that.

£7 non refundable deposit to be paid in advance for each of the weeks (ie £7 x 6 weeks) via either PayPal or Bank Transfer whichever is best for you, just message me.

Then each session is £20 for 2 hours tuition included in the price is cake and a drink from the Venue as well.

A Starter Painting Pack which includes your own Binded Journal, No 3 Round Brush, a Liner Brush and a Dotting Tool is available to purchase from me at £13.00 which will be used for the whole Course.

Week 2

From what you learnt in Week 1 this week you will create these delightful daisies using the ‘comma stroke’ and ‘tipping the brush’ techniques.

With guidance from myself, a ‘Folk It Ambassador’ you will be amazed at what you will create. We will have so much fun along the way too.

Absolutely no artistic experience is required as a template is used to create the basic design.

A ‘round’ brush, a ‘liner’ brush and a ‘dotting tool’ are used and you will also learn the technique ‘tipping’ to create two colours on your brush at the same time.

I guarantee you will say ‘I can’t believe I’ve just done that!’ everyone does!!!

Week 3

Haven’t you learnt so much already on your Folk It Journey and this week you will put more of that into practice by doing the Hinderloopen Flora Design.

Learning how to do Buds, Dotty Daisies, Stems and Leaves.

Week 4

This week you will learn how to do Lace using your Liner Brush to make delicate brush stroke lines that give the visual effect of lace.

Week 5

A new brushstroke to learn this week called the ‘C’ Stroke which will be used to create a heart design.

You will also learn the skill of double blending which is beautiful and effective way to paint.

A new brush will be used called the Flat Brush.

Week 6

Doodle time!

You’ll put everything you’ve learnt into a Doodle Masterpiece. Using comma strokes, dots, lace whatever you want to combine all your skills into YOUR design.
